Blog > The Power of Thankfulness
The holidays are just around the corner. It's the time of year for spending time with family and friends, celebrating and giving thanks. Being thankful for what you have is one of the simplest ways to lift your spirits and live an overall happier life. Here are some tips for making thankfulness a daily part of your life.
- Express your thankfulness. Don't just say "Thank you." Take a moment to tell the person you're thanking why you are thankful. Taking just a few extra seconds can make a huge difference.
- Look towards yourself. You are important and valued as well. Take a few moments to be thankful for who you are and all that you do.
- What do you take for granted? The smallest things in our daily lives often get overlooked. Fresh drinking water, shelter, food. Being thankful for the little things can help put everything else into perspective.
- Start and end your day with a thankful heart. Take a few seconds at the beginning and end of your day to list 3 things you are thankful for. This can help improve your mood all day long and have a lasting impact.
Even the smallest of changes can have a large impact. Robert Brault said it best, "Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things".
